Eagle News 12/3/2018

Those of you who are skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers or fat tire mountain bikers are undoubtedly happy that snow is now blanketing our valley. Please allow for extra driving time on icy or snow-covered roads as you bring your students to and from school each day. Also, please make sure your students have the appropriate clothing for outside recess in wintery conditions.
Your students will hear in the morning announcements and from their teachers what the Alpine Elementary snow rules are.
  • No throwing snow balls at other students allowed
  • Students can throw snow balls at the south gym wall
  • Respect the snow creations of other students
.
Big week for the Alpine Eagles Choir under the direction of Melinda Hunt. Today, the choir will be performing at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building at 5:00 pm. On Wednesday, December 5 the choir will be performing for parents and other invited guests 6:00 – 7:00 pm in our gymnasium, and on Thursday, our choral students will be performing in an all-school assembly at 9:15 am. Good luck this week to our choir students and their amazing director, Melinda Hunt!
Students participating in Battle of the Books can earn a Pizza Party invitation on December 11 (grades 3 and 4) or December 18 (grades 5 and 6) if they read three of the books from the Battle of the Book list. See the attachment for more details.
Some of you have already met our new Office Assistant, Sheri Davis. Sheri has replaced Jeanne Van Wagoner, who was only with us for a short time and needed to resign her position because of family reasons. Sheri has worked at Alpine Elementary as a classroom aide for the past three years, and we are excited that she is now bringing her talents and positive personality to our office as she works alongside our Head Secretary, Martha Hadlock. Cherie Gallian is now working in the aide position vacated by Sheri, and we welcome her to the Alpine Elementary team.
