Eagle News 5/21/2018
Since I communicated about my weekend bike accident yesterday, I have received many well wishes from parents and students. Thank you! My brain fog clears more and more with each passing day.
First through sixth graders have seven days of school left. Kindergartners only have six days of school remaining as May 30 will be their final day of school. May 31 will be a shortened day, with school dismissing at 10:35 am. Buses will transport students home after the 10:35 am dismissal time.
All schools in the Alpine School District will be transitioning to an electronic report card on Skyward for the final student grades for the 2017 – 2018 school year, and all report cards from this point forward will be transmitted to parents only electronically. Consequently, paper report cards will not be coming home with your students as they have previously. I have attached a brief tutorial on how you can access your student’s grades on Skyward.
Because we have kept report cards in the office in previous years, we have also kept personal items left by students. We will no longer be keeping student belongings in our office. If you know your student will not be in attendance for the final day or days of school, please make sure he/she brings all of their personal belongings home.
We will be having our end-of-year Awards Assembly at 2:15 pm on Friday, May 25. If your student is receiving an award, you should be notified by your student’s teacher. We do have 17 students who are receiving a Perfect Attendance Award, and the parents of those students will be receiving an email from me. To not miss one day of school all year, with no tardies, is an accomplishment to be celebrated! Please don’t tell your students they are receiving an award. We want to surprise them at the Awards Assembly!
I am also attaching flyers to a UVU summer math camp and a local art summer camp.
