My wife Laura and I have enjoyed the multiple entertainment options available to us since moving to the Utah Valley six years ago. On Friday night, we had the opportunity to watch the highly entertaining “Seussical” at the Hale Centre Theater. In Redmond, Oregon where we lived for 27 years and raised our family, the big event of the year was the Deschutes County Fair in August, a fun family experience, but the DCF certainly pales in comparison to all the entertainment choices we have here, although I was disappointed that there were no deep fried Elephant Ears, a Deschutes County Fair favorite, at the Hale Centre Theater.
Our Christmas Sing will begin at 1:15 pm on Wednesday, December 18. Each grade level, starting with our preschoolers and ending with our sixth graders, will sing two songs, and then return to class. We are grateful for the time and effort that our music teacher, Melinda Hunt, has put forth to prepare our students for the Christmas Sing.
Last week, directed by Mrs. Hunt, the Alpine Eagle Choir performed three times. The talent that the students at Alpine Elementary have never ceases to amaze me. All of the choir performances, including performing at the historical venue at Assembly Hall on Temple Square, were outstanding. Thank you Alpine Eagle Choir and Mrs. Hunt!
Our third graders will have the opportunity on Wednesday morning to work with students from Timberline Middle School and build some wooden toy cars. And on Thursday, our 6th graders will be taking a field trip to the Aquarium.
Friday, December 20 will be a Minimal Day, and students will be dismissed from school at 12:35 pm.
At the end of this week everything that is currently in the Lost and Found will be bagged up and put into storage. Please take the opportunity to come to the school and see if your child has any items in our Lost and Found.
Mrs. Faux’s class won November contest… We really need to give them a run for their money! So treats were bought for a second place winner and that is Mrs. Johnson’s class! Thanks to Sun Haven tanning located in Pleasant Grove For generously sponsoring November’s contest!
We also had a really slow month but every dollar counts! We collected $33.90 For November!
Do Nut forget to clip those box tops! Please turn in box tops by December 19th at 230pm as that is when they will be collected.
