School Information
School Focus This Year
We have many things we are trying to accomplish and focus on this year. One thing I would ask of you is to please talk with your students regarding kindness and respect. Specifically, respect towards the adults at school. The vast majority are kind and respectful but everyone can use a reminder from parents at home. When our students leave Alpine, the most important thing they can leave with is the ability to respect those around them and show kindness towards others. We really appreciate your support in this effort.

SEP Conferences Coming Up
We are excited to have our first Parent/Teacher conferences of this year. Please log on to your Parent Skyward page to access the calendar to sign up. We encourage everyone to please come and get an update on how your student(s) are doing in school. This is a fantastic time for parents and teachers to connect and answer any questions you may have. I have attached a short tutorial on how to sign up if you are unfamiliar with this process. Please let us know if you need assistance with this process.

Lunch Worker Still Needed
We are still in need of one lunch worker in our kitchen. If you, or someone you know might be interested, please let me know or email our kitchen manager, Joan High at [email protected].

School Dropoff and Pickup

I want to thank everyone for the courteous and efficient manner that has been shown during these times of the day. As you have noticed, we have had all of our teachers outside during these times. Starting Monday, we will not have as many adults outside before and after school. Please continue to follow the safety and procedural measures we have been following for the first two weeks of school. Mainly, in the pull-thru, please pull as far forward as you can so we can make sure we can continue the great traffic flow we have had so far. Thanks!

Lunch Worker Still Needed

We are still in need of two lunch workers in our kitchen. If you, or someone you know might be interested, please let me know or email our kitchen manager, Joan High at [email protected].

We have one of the best PTAs in Utah! Our first meeting of the year will be on August 30th at 9:30 in the faculty room. We invite all who are interested to come and see what is happening.

Please Join Our PTA!

Have you seen the video our Alpine Elementary PTA created over the summer, to show you what kinds of things we do for our school? Check out the short video here!

Parents, please take a few minutes and join the PTA! By becoming a member, you are in no way signing up to volunteer your time! You’re simply paying dues to help our elementary sponsor the 20+ PTA activities we do for Alpine Elementary throughout the school year! The dues are $10.85. We truly value every membership and every way that parents can help support their children at school.  Simply sign up here!

Also, please take a second and follow Alpine Elementary and the PTA on our social media accounts! Facebook: Alpine Elementary & PTA / InstaGram: Alpine Elementary PTA .

Reflections

Reflections is an amazing nationwide art contest that coincides with a different theme each year. Students can pick from different avenues of art to display how they interpret the theme- this year the theme is “Show your voice.” We are hoping to have a night to showcase everyone’s entries along with choosing who won the contest.  We still need a chair for this program and the program won’t be able to happen if we cannot find a chair.  Here is a link that tells you exactly what the duties to the chairperson entails. https://www.pta.org/docs/default-source/files/programs/reflections/_evergreen-program-materials/local-leader-resources/local-leaders-guide_reflections.pdf This needs a volunteer ASAP, as the due date for entries is October 13th.  We will also need a few more volunteers to help with the event.

Room Mother’s Tea

On Wednesday, September 1st, we will be having our annual room mother’s tea. This is for all those who have signed up to be a room parent this year. We do have a couple of classes that do not have anyone signed up yet. The PTA will be reaching out to those classes to see if we can fill those spots. The short meeting will be in the library at 3:30 that day.

School Information

Dropoff and Pickup

Thank you for the great response we have received from everyone regarding our dropoff and pickup times. I hope you have noticed our faculty out in front at the beginning and ending of school. It seems to be going relatively well. This is all thanks to the patience from all of you. In the east pull-through I would ask that you continue to pull up as far as possible before picking up and dropping off your students. If we have one person stopping, it really does mess up all those waiting behind. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Also, please do not call your students to walk across the street in any other place besides the crosswalk. We do not want any injuries.

Kindergarten Open House

We want to invite all kindergartners and their parents to our Kindergarten Open House on Monday, August 22nd. This will happen from 4:30-6:00. Please enter through the front door of the school and make your way down to the kindergarten rooms. Please call the main office with any questions.

Tardy Bell

Please remember that school is starting at 9:15 this year. A warning bell rings at 9:12 to alert the students to line up. If your student arrives after 9:15, they will need to come to the main office to check in and pick up a slip to be admitted to class.
