School Focus This Year
We have many things we are trying to accomplish and focus on this year. One thing I would ask of you is to please talk with your students regarding kindness and respect. Specifically, respect towards the adults at school. The vast majority are kind and respectful but everyone can use a reminder from parents at home. When our students leave Alpine, the most important thing they can leave with is the ability to respect those around them and show kindness towards others. We really appreciate your support in this effort.
SEP Conferences Coming Up
We are excited to have our first Parent/Teacher conferences of this year. Please log on to your Parent Skyward page to access the calendar to sign up. We encourage everyone to please come and get an update on how your student(s) are doing in school. This is a fantastic time for parents and teachers to connect and answer any questions you may have. I have attached a short tutorial on how to sign up if you are unfamiliar with this process. Please let us know if you need assistance with this process.
Lunch Worker Still Needed
We are still in need of one lunch worker in our kitchen. If you, or someone you know might be interested, please let me know or email our kitchen manager, Joan High at [email protected].
From the Library
It’s time to register for this year’s Battle of the Books Competition!
You can register your 3rd-6th grade student(s) here:
https://sites.google.com/
Once students are registered, all they need to do is start reading the books on their grade level book list available here or in the library. If they read three books on their list before December, they’ll be assigned a team and invited to a pizza party in the library.
Registration ends Friday, September 23rd.
5th and 6th Grade Battles – Monday, March 7, 2023
3rd and 4th Grade Battles – Monday, March 20, 2023

Alpine PTA Meeting
Our next meeting will be on October 4th at 9:30 in the faculty room. We invite all who are interested to come and see what is happening.
September 14 – Walk to School Wednesday – Sponsored by Alpine Pediatrics – Every kid who walks to school can find a PTA volunteer who will have a keychain with beads for them every Walk to School Wednesday that they walk to school. If you live out walking range, you can park at Creekside Park and your child can walk from there. Thank you so much to Alpine Pediatrics for sponsoring this program this year!
We also still need parent volunteers to help with this. You would be at the school from 8:40 AM-9:15 AM helping pass out beads and key chains to the students. If you can help with this sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/ go/10C0E4AAAAB28A7F9C34-walk
Save the Date! – We are currently planning on having our annual Fun Run and Fall Festival on September 30.
Running Club: We still need volunteers in order to keep Running Club this year. Parents can choose either one day or multiple days a week. You will help track student’s laps around the field during recess on MWF. 5th through 6th graders will be from 10:30-10:45 AM, 1st-4th graders will be 2:00-2:30 PM.
