School Information
I was notified by a parent of an incident that occurred Friday afternoon regarding an older man that pulled over & offered candy to a couple of our students near Purple, as they walked home from school. Gratefully, they said no and ran before anything bad happened. The police were notified and they promised to do their due diligence. We are asking you to please speak with your student regarding being safe and walking with a friend or group of friends if they walk home. We will have all our teachers at school reeducate our students on Monday regarding stranger danger. But, as always, please keep open communication with your students regarding what to do in this type of situation.

Chinese DLI Lottery Information
Chinese 1st grade students that applied for acceptance for next school year should have received notification last Friday, via email. For those who were accepted, the commitment letter needs to be returned, in person, to our office no later than Friday Feb 17th at 3:00. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Registration for Alpine Preschool for 2023-2024 School Year
Registration for Alpine Elementary’s Inclusion PRESCHOOL opens at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 1st.  Half day sessions will be available to 3 and 4 year old children in our school boundary and beyond.  First come, first served.  3 year olds come 2 days a week, and 4 year olds come 4 days – Tuesday, through Friday.  Children will attend the session for the age that they are on or before September 1st, 2023.

For more information, email Miss Kathy – [email protected] – or visit the district website at  To secure a spot for your child on February 1st, register online via the same link above.

Outside/Inside Weather Days

As a followup to the email sent up earlier, if we have an extremely cold or inclement weather day, we will post red flags on the outside of the school. This will indicate that students should come in the main doors and go down to the gym until the morning bell rings. This will occur if the temperature drops below 20 degrees or if we have major storms.

Legislative Update

The 2023 Legislative Session is in full swing! Here are a couple of resources to help you through:

The PTA tracks education bills, check it out here:

Find out who your state senator and representative are here by scrolling down and clicking on “Find Your Legislators”:

If you want to communicate to them about a bill their committee or house is voting on, you should text them and let them know you are their constituent. Be respectful but communicate your viewpoint.

Please contact Tracy Nuttall, PTA advocacy specialist, at 801-897-7018 if you’d like more information about PTA advocacy or how to contact your legislators.

From the Lunchroom

A reminder to everyone to please make sure your student(s) have money in their lunch accounts. If you need help with this, you can simply log on to and register. In addition to making payments, you can view your student account balances, history, set up automatic payments and account balance alerts. Also, our kitchen can accept cash or checks for meal payments, but not credit cards. If you have any questions or may need help, please do not hesitate to contact the main office at 801-610-8700.
