FROM THE PTA
Red Ribbon Week is HERE! Oct. 9-13
Theme: Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug Free.
Your students will receive a red bracelet on Monday in class to wear throughout the week. On Monday we are taking a special school photo and tying ribbons on the fence, as we make a commitment to take care of our minds and live drug free. On Friday there is a special visit from the DEA, police, fire and SWAT teams.
Daily themes during the week to reinforce the message:
MONDAY- WEAR RED: Red ribbon week kick off
TUESDAY- CRAZY HAIR DAY: Use your head, don’t do drugs
WEDNESDAY- INSIDE OUT DAY: Be kind to yourself from the inside out
THURSDAY- JERSEY DAY: Team up against drugs
FRIDAY- SCHOOL SPIRIT DAY: Our school chooses to be drug free
See the flyer that was sent home, and also attached for more info. on the themes
*Please see a separate email sent with information and resources for parents.
Remember that a strong relationship with a caring adult is the best anti-drug program there is.
THIS WEDNESDAY (10/11) CAFÉ ZUPA’S SPIRIT NIGHT
This Wednesday from 4-9pm we are also having a spirit night at Café Zupa’s at the Highland location. A portion of proceeds from either online or dine-in orders will come back to us. Thanks for your support!
*Remember to let the cashier know you are with Alpine if you’re dining in, or select your fundraiser at checkout if ordering online.

Reflections

The Reflections Art Program is back and your kids are pumped to participate!

Last year Alpine Elementary had more entries than any other school in the NATION! And we can do it again!

We visited classrooms this week and asked who will enter – nearly every hand went up. Our hope is that you can keep the excitement alive and encourage your children to participate (they will also need your help submitting their artwork online).

Important dates/mark your calendar:

Reflections Due Date – October 24

Lunch Party for participants – October 26

Awards Night/Art Showcase – November 14

We have prizes for every student that participates, prizes for classrooms with the highest participation, a party for all participants, and an art showcase/awards night for students and their families. (Prizes include Hale Theater tickets, Ballet West tickets, Shoot360 memberships, Gift Cards (restaurants, movie theaters, etc), Crumbl cookie cards, and lots more).

Entries need to be submitted electronically here: https://www.utahpta.org/ref (this is also where instructions and rules are found).

From the Lunchroom

A reminder to everyone to please make sure your student(s) have money in their lunch accounts. If you need help with this, you can simply log on to linq Connect and register. In addition to making payments, you can view your student account balances, history, set up automatic payments and account balance alerts. Also, our kitchen can accept cash or checks for meal payments. Additionally, we cannot give change so all money given will be placed into your student’s account. If you have any questions or may need help, please do not hesitate to contact the main office at 801-610-8700.
