Playground Fundraiser

You may have noticed, but this year we are not doing a formal school fundraiser. However, we are doing an informal fundraiser to try and replace and add onto our existing playground. For the next few weeks, I will include this information in my weekly newsletter regarding this effort. This fundraiser is completely voluntary and we would love to collect as many donations as possible. We will not be sending home any flyers or information with your students regarding this fundraiser.

Much of the equipment on our current playground is decades old and has experienced a large amount of wear and tear. In addition, the number of items on our playground is not on par with the number of students on our playground, resulting in kids not finding things to do and being as active as we would like them to be during recess hours.

Our new playground design actually EXTENDS the playground by a large amount (near the portables) and adds several new pieces of playground equipment, including an entirely new ninja obstacle course, a new climber spinner, a brand-new slide, additional swings, and benches and shade canopies for students wanting to read or sit and chat. Take a look at the new playground designs attached!

In total, the new playground will cost roughly $135k, and we as a community will need to raise the funds. We would like to open up the opportunity for parents and businesses to make a donation for the playground.

As part of the new playground, we will include a permanent sign displaying names and logos of those donors who are able to make significant contributions. Logos and names displayed on the permanent sign will be tiered according to the following donation amounts:

  • Bronze = $10k or less

  • Silver = $11k – $25k

  • Gold = $26k – $50k

  • Platinum = >$50k

To make a donation, please make a check out to the Alpine School District Foundation and drop it off to our front office. Construction will commence as soon as we reach our playground fundraising goal.

Let’s give our students an awesome new playground so they can stay active and healthy while they’re on school grounds!

Kindergarten Registration continues this Week!

We want to make you aware that we are continuing our Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-2025 year. This takes place online via our school website. You can click on this link http://alpine.alpineschools.org to access our website. You will need to upload a few items to complete your student’s registration.

1. Birth Certificate

2. Proof of residency-this can be a rental agreement, utility bill, etc. Something that has your name and address on it.

3. Proof of immunization-we know that you may not have these done yet, so if you do not have these completed yet, it is ok. You can get these to us later.

We will also be available to help those with the registration process (computers, etc) if you would like to come in and register in the main office during the week. Additionally, if you know of anyone that does not have a student currently at our school but may have a kindergarten student next year, you may forward this email on so they have this information.

If you do have a kindergartener to register, we ask that you do it as soon as possible as this allows us to get a better number on staffing, etc for the upcoming year.

Please let me know if you have any questions. You may respond to this email or email me at [email protected].

Seeking Performers, Talent & Volunteers for our Multicultural Family Event in May!

In lieu of a normal spring carnival (new district policy bans the use of any inflatables or rides) we are planning a big “Family Party” with a multicultural theme. We are hoping to provide entertainment/performances, food, games and crafts. We need your help to make it successful though!

Right now we are looking for 2 things:

1. People to participate on the planning committee

2. Any connections to any multicultural performers or entertainment (we’d love to find at least 5-8 performances to share that evening)

Chelsea Hertig is heading this up and really needs your help and community involvement to make this successful. Please email [email protected] for any leads on performers or if you’d like to help plan.

Thank you!

From the Lunchroom

A reminder to everyone to please make sure your student(s) have money in their lunch accounts. If you need help with this, you can simply log on to linq Connect and register. In addition to making payments, you can view your student account balances, history, set up automatic payments and account balance alerts. Also, our kitchen can accept cash or checks for meal payments. Additionally, we cannot give change so all money given will be placed into your student’s account. If you have any questions or may need help, please do not hesitate to contact the main office at 801-610-8700.
