Halloween Information

We will be having our annual Halloween parade on Oct. 31st. We will be starting the parade at 1:15 and will be walking through the classrooms and ending in the gym. Please feel free to come and wait for the procession in the gym. The parade usually takes about an hour from start to finish.

This year, our 6th grade will be going on a field trip to the planetarium on Halloween. This will mean the 6th grade will not be participating in the parade. They will not arrive back at school until about 2:00

Class parties on Halloween will be happening from approximately 2:15-3:30. This is, however, class dependent on individual teacher schedules. Please check teacher emails for specific times.

Lastly, please remember that costumes for Halloween should not include masks of any kind. We need to be able to identify all students. This includes during the parade. Also, please do not bring any toy weapons to school. These will be collected and held in the office until the end of the day. Please refrain from blood or gore on costumes as well.

We are always excited to have Halloween here at Alpine. We hope everyone has fun planning fun and safe costumes for the holiday. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Student Pictures in the Hallway for Sale
Many of you have noticed in our main hallway, we have many pictures of students. This has been a great thing to liven up our school and it has given our students a little bit of ownership at Alpine Elementary. We are excited to allow parents to purchase these pictures if you would like. I have tried hard to get all the students in the school in at least one picture, but I know there are a few students that are not represented. I will do a better job next year at this. For this year, these pictures will be for sale for $8/ea. I do realize that some pictures have multiple students in them. Because of this, if your student is in a picture with other students, I will be able to make copies of these and have them before the last day of school. To purchase these, please come into the main office, beginning Tuesday, May 16th. You can pay with check, cash, or credit/debit card. If your student is in the pictures by themselves, you can take the picture then. If they are in a picture with other students, we would like to keep the picture on the wall and give the other students in the picture a chance to order that picture as well. These duplicate pictures will be distributed before the last day of school.

Alpine Race Day

We are excited to let you know of a new item we are doing for the end of the year. This is called, “Alpine Race Day”. This is a fun morning of outside races, with prizes for the winners. Following is a brief description of what is happening that day. We will be having each grade come out separately, beginning at 9:30 to do either one or two races. For grades 1-2, we will be having a short 50 yard dash. Boys will compete against boys and girls with girls. For grades 3-6, we will be having two races. One will be a 50 yard dash, and the other will be a longer, ½ mile (approximately) race. The long race will be one lap around the field. Again, boys compete with boys and girls with girls. We will be having all students participate in these races. Students will be given the option to run, jog, or walk but we will be asking everyone to try their best. Please make sure your students are dressed for this activity with appropriate footwear. Thanks for your support in this.

Summer Office Hours
Beginning in June, our summer office hours will be on Wednesday, from 8:00-12:00pm. If you need to come at a different time, please call and we can make an appoint to meet with you.
